A mischief spirit of money and fashion, manifested from ideas of cats knowing the value of money.
Technically a shapeshifter, only uses this to swap between two forms (quadroped and biped).
No familial relations. The only character of its story I've made so far.
He/It pronouns.
CoinKitty (TBN)
CoinKitty doesn't have a whole lot in the way of IRL history as one of my characters. I drew a cat, gave it blue fur patterns, a bow on the tail, and metallic facial features. I then started calling him "CoinKitty" as a placeholder name. I still need to give it a proper name (though, I'll likely keep "CoinKitty" as a title or nickname).
I also still need to make the world and setting he exists in.
Nearly forgot to mention I haven't exactly made that yet (outside of wanting it to be a mix of human, humanoid, and inhuman + one random furry creature (semi-inspired by JJK having the rules for what a cursed spirit can be design-wise be kinda loose)).
In a world where collective human belief can create extremely powerful entities and dieties, the notion that cats just generally love mischief has been as common as in our world for just as long. Many mischief spirits have been created and forgotten based on ways cats can bother people.
If the concept that created a spirit stays well known and believed for hundreds of years, the spirit gains the ability to outlast it and take on additional traits for their domain.
If the concept is forgotten before enough time passes, the spirit it created fades with it.
For a very long time, across several different cultures, the notion that cats can understand the value of money has been well-known. Both due to stories of cats bringing their owners coins to cheer them up retold again and again and due to people seeing a cat mesmerized by how they can glitter and shine, the notion has been prevalent for many hundreds of years now. As has one spirit that the concept created.
A feline spirit of money and mischief, known to either take lost coins for their luster or give them to those who might need it. Some have come home from a long trip to their couch audibly stuffed with coins and bills, others have misplaced money and never found it again, and many have almost walked by vending machines only to realize that a coin on the ground right next to it would let them get a nice snack or drink.
There may be other spirits this notion created, but if there are then they've never met before. CoinKitty is the cause of many weird phenomena in its area, vending machines being magnets for just enough loose change, a bill floating on the wind and landing right in someone's hand, couches mysteriously having more change in them than has ever been brought into the house. As a mischief spirit, he does enjoy playing keep-away with non-vital things to bother people, but it loves the confusion laced with joy that his main antics bring.
One day, after the hundreds of years of usual antics it needed to be able to outlive his creating concept, it stumbled upon a pink satin ribbon. It was shiny, glossy, and beautiful. He decided to start wearing it on his tail, falling in love with fashion and adding the concept to his domain as a spirit.
